JAMB Policy Meeting 2020 Concluded
We are pleased to inform you that finally the JAMB Policy meeting for 2020 is now over. And like we promised, below is the outcome of the meeting.
Summary of the Outcome of JAMB 20th Policy Meeting which was held today 16th June 2020.
1 Out of 1,157,977 candidates who sat for UTME in 2019, about 612,557 were admitted.
2 JAMB Registrar, Oloyede noted that candidates waiting for their results will only be considered when they are uploaded on its website.
3 Minister of Education reiterated that institutions shouldn’t charge above N2,000 for their post utme forms.
4 2020 Admission processes are expected to commence in August based on the guidelines released by JAMB.
5 Due to the current pandemic, the minister of education urged JAMB and tertiary institutions to consider candidates with previous years Senior School Certificate Examination and other qualifying results, to proceed with the admission process.
6 Minister of Education also added that government would make an arrangement that would accommodate applicants who will be taking the 2020 SSCE examination when the opportunity to do so is worked out
7 The JAMB minimum cut-off mark for public universities is 160. But please note that Universities have the right to increase their minimum cut-off mark but they don’t have right to go below the jamb cut-off mark. We recommend you check out the JAMB 2020 Cut-off Marks page for more details.
2020 JAMB Cut-off Marks for all Universities, Polytechnics & COE officially Out
On Tuesday 16th June 2020, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and tertiary institution’s stakeholders had their 20th Policy meeting and concluded on the minimum cut-off mark for 2020 admission process.
t’s very important that to know that schools are allowed to cut above the stated cut-off marks below but they must not accept below the cut-off mark.
2020 JAMB-Cut-off Marks for Tertiary Institutions.
~ Public Universities: The cut-off mark for state and federal universities is 160.
~ Private Universities cut-off mark is 140.
~ Public Polytechnics: Federal and state polytechnics cut-off mark is 120.
~ Private Polytechnics cutoff mark is 110.
~ Colleges of Education (COE) cut-off mark is 100.
Please note that institutions has the right to increase the cut-off mark. But they can’t go lower than the cut-off marks stated above
By implication, some public universities cut-off mark might still be 180 or 200 or above but must not be below 160.
