There has been pressure on President Muhammadu Buhari led administration to lift the ban on academic activities to enable schools in the country to reopen. Just like that ban on worship centers were lifted.
Primary, Secondary, and tertiary institution teachers frown at the favorable priority given to religion than the education in the country.
Nigerians students should be aware that the duties of the federal government is to protect lives and won't be pressured to take a hasty decision that might put the lives of students at risk by lifting the ban on academic activities amid COVID-19 pandemic.
To be honest, the students and teachers are one of the most affected people by the COVID-19 pandemic, both at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.
In the past few weeks, there have been viral news of school resumption online. Secondary School students who were earlier scheduled to sit for both WAEC and NECO examinations were affected due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recently, the FG took a decision to allowed all final years students which include SS 3 students, JSS 3 students, and Basic 6 students, were approved to resume back to their studies in other to be prepared for their upcoming examinations ahead of the national resumption date.
This information was mentioned by Boss Mustapha, Who is the chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
Having considered the above information, here are the four (4) points teachers should take note of, ahead of school resumption.
looking at this, here are points for teachers to take note of, ahead of school resumption:
1. Currently, there is no fixed date for school resumption as the federal government has not announced or scheduled any date yet.
2. When school resumes, precautionary measures as expected to be observed. All students are expected to wear face masks while in classes and any students that don't wear a face mask will not be allowed into the classes.
3. All students must sanitize before allowed to enter the classroom.
4. Secondary School finals (SS 3) are advised to continue to study their books as NECO and WAEC would be conducted at any time.
