UTME 2020: Beware: These Universities won't Accept Candidates who Scored Below 180 (Full List) |
If you scored less than 180 in the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the universities that I list in this piece say they won't admit you, though the official cut-off mark announced by JAMB is 160.
Recently, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board announced that the official cut-off mark for candidates seeking admission in to Nigerian universities, both public and private, for the 2020/2021 academic session, is 160.
However, the 160 official cut off mark is the minimum set by JAMB in line with the agreements reached by the universities. What this implies is that JAMB has given universities the liberty to put their cut-off marks above 160. The universities are only not allowed to go below 160.
As a result of this liberalist approach adopted by JAMB, 51 universities, out of the 180 degree awarding institutions in the country, have said they will not admit any student who scored below 180.
Out of the 51 universities, one set its cut-off mark above 200 while nine have 200 as their minimum score for admission. Also, one university said its own cut-off mark is 190 while the remaining universities on the list accept 180 as their minimum cut-off mark.
