Since the federal government has announced the cancellation of WAEC for federal government schools (UNITY) by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, every student is not happy because they thought it also affect the states owned schools and the private schools.
Here is a good news for the states owned schools and the private schools students, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, who is the Minister of State for Education has explained what the federal government means.
He said the cancellation of WAEC doesn't affect the states owned schools and the private schools, only the unity schools are affected by the declaration.

The Minister for Education does not have power over the state governors, example is the Seyi Makinde of Oyo state who came out to announce that his state will participate in the 2020 WAEC without the support of the federal government, he has lead by example and I think many of the governors will join him now.
If we can recap, 19 northerner state has support the federal government on the cancellation of WAEC and the closing of schools till it is safe, maybe they will reverse their words now if the are pressurized by their people.
Students that fall into the states owned schools and private ones are adviced to continue with their preparation, many of the students has already given up.
