BREAKING: ASUU To Call Off Strike With Immediate Effect
The Academic Staff Union of Universities has been on strike since the month of March due to the non payment of salaries of their members who failed to enroll into the federal governmen's IPPIS, a payroll software mandate for all public officials. It's very clear that the federal government of Nigeria has approved the reopening of schools across the country with a condition that all states who wants to reopen schools should meet up with all the necessary precautions and measures given by the presidential task force and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control for safe reopening. Since the federal government has approved the reopening of schools across the country, then I suggest that they should also settle with ASUU so that school activities will resume fully. Some states in Nigeria have not announced resumption date for schools due to the fact that ASSU is yet to call off the strike. In my opinion, the federal government should consider the fact that the ASSU strike is now affecting students from resuming schools, therefore the federal government should settle with them so that all academic activities will commence fully across the country..
