Relevant stakeholders in Benue state education sector yesterday had a meeting and outlined the following conditions for possible reopening of schools in the state.

Those present at the meeting were Commissioner for Health and Human Services (secretary of Covid-19 committee), Vice Chancellors of universities in the state, Rectors of polytechnics in the state, Provosts of Colleges of Education in the state, education agencies' Heads, directors of the ministry of education, House standing committee of education, science and technology.
The meeting as stated by the state commissioner of education, Denis Tyavyar was mainly for consulting with the relevant stakeholders in the state education sector, to have their "views and contributions" for preparation of schools for possible reopening.
He added that the safety of the students and teachers is very important to the state government.
After a lot of deliberations from members of the meeting, the meeting resolved with the following conditions for possible reopening of schools;
_ All schools must have hand washing facilities, face mask, body temperature checks to their gates, hostels, classrooms and offices.
_ "The whole premises of each school must be decontaminated and efforts must be geared towards maintenance of the highest level of hygiene.
_ Social distancing protocols must be obeyed in classrooms and dining halls.
