Soldier Hits 13-yr-Old Girl’s Head Against The Wall, Rapes Her While Unconscious

A General Court Martial (GCM) of Operation Lafiya Dole, on Wednesday dismissed and sentenced a soldier, Corporal Aliyu Yakubu, to five years imprisonment for assaulting and defiling a 13-year-old girl. Yakubu was reported to have committed the crime on July 1, 2018, while he was serving at 202 Battalion in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State. The suspect forcefully dragged Fatima to an uncompleted building in Bama, smashed her against the wall until she lost consciousness and had carnal knowledge of her. President of the Court Brigadier, General Arikpo Ekubi, said the accused has betrayed the trust and confidence repose on him by the Nigerian Army and fail to protect the right of the vulnerable in the society..
